Founder and Director Profile
Maureen Kark is a registered Counselling Psychologist.  Maureen was awarded her Honour's and Master's Degrees Cum Laude from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1981 and 1983 respectively.
After several years of clinical work in a well established private practice Maureen shifted her area of focus to Health Psychology.  In 1989, Maureen wrote and launched the International Wellness and Weight Control Programme - Weight-Winners which assisted thousands of people worldwide in achieving holistic wellness and received extensive national and international media coverage.
In 1994, Maureen chose to widen her scope of experience through entering the corporate world. She was appointed Developmental Manager for Investec Bank Limited and was responsible for the development of the Investec Business School.  In 1996, the recruitment function of the Investec group was added to Maureen’s portfolio and in 1997 she was appointed Head of Human Resource development for the Investec Group. In this capacity she was invited by the Chief Executive Officer to become a member of the Central Strategic Forum of the Group.
In 1998, Maureen resigned from her management position in order to establish Maureen Kark and Associates and redefine her role with Investec as a consultant to Human Resources and the provider of the Groups' Employee Assistance Services.  In addition to her experience in both conceptualising and implementing strategic and innovative human resource initiatives on a corporate level, Maureen has conducted extensive research and enjoyed recognised success in the Employee Wellness Programmes she has customised for organisations.
